本次活动以高一高二所有在校学生为主，教务处协同英语组各位老师组织，采用自主报名的形式，自选喜欢的英语演讲文章，可自写，可借鉴，文章主题不限，要求积极、正能量、有学习意义的主题，如："My Future is Not a Dream"（我的未来不是梦）；"Youth and Responsibility"（青春与责任）；"Skills Make Life Better"（技能让生活更美好）；"The Power of Persistence"（坚持的力量）。

学生积极准备，只为在竞赛上一展风采，现场邀请各位英语老师作为评委老师，现场打分、计分，时间虽短，但是趣味十足，让学生们敢说英语，能说英语，会说英语。

比赛不是目的，希望通过此次比赛激励孩子们学习英语从此刻开始，不断挑战难度，突破自己，从敢说、敢表达到能说、能表达，不断进步，成为更加优秀的自己。

**Dear friends,** Today, I want to share with you my favorite season. My favorite season is autumn.

Autumn is a season of harvest. The fields are golden with ripe crops. Farmers are busy harvesting, and their faces are filled with smiles of joy and satisfaction. The weather in autumn is very pleasant. It's not too hot like summer and not too cold like winter. The sky is high and blue, and the air is fresh and crisp. It's a great time to go outside and enjoy the beautiful nature. You can take a walk in the park, see the fallen leaves dancing in the wind, and feel the gentle breeze on your face. It's really relaxing and enjoyable.

 In autumn, there are also many beautiful colors. The leaves on the trees turn from green to yellow, orange and red. They create a colorful and magnificent landscape. It's like a fairy tale world, so beautiful that it makes people intoxicated.

We've all been taught that we should help people. lt is the right thing to do and will make us popular with others. lt may even win us favors in return. However, we must be realistic. We can't say yes to every request. lf we did, we would fail or go crazy for sure. Sometimes we simply don't have the time to help. in this case, we must know how to say no politely.

When we need to say no, here is one method we can try. First, we should tell the truth. lf we really can't do something, we should just say no. Second, we shouId remember to refuse requests politely, We must communicate clearly, but must also be sincere and sympathetic. A true friend will understand. Finally, we must not feel guilty about saying no. Sometimes refusing others is the right thing to do.It can save ourselves, and them, a lot of trouble. In short, we cannot please everyone all the time. Refusing favors is a part of life.
